The University of Rouen Normandy is part of the European University alliance INGENIUM, born in 2020 as part of the “European Universities” Initiative launched by the European Commission via the Erasmus+ program.
INGENIUM brings together 10 universities from 10 countries of the European Union:
- Germany: Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences
- Bulgaria : Medical University of Sofia
- Spain : University of Oviedo
- Finland : South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences
- France : University of Rouen Normandie
- Greece : University of Crete
- Ireland : Munster Technological University
- Italy : University of Gabriele d’Annunzio Chieti – Pescara
- Romania : Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași
- Sweden : University of Skövde
The objective of the INGENIUM partners is to create a European university alliance with higher education training programs in English including teaching and research collaborations in the partners’ different fields of specialization, building on the strengths of the members to create synergies between them. For the teaching teams, this constitutes an opportunity to internationalize their training without constraint and can take different forms: simple sharing or exchange of optional courses or integrated into curricula, double degrees, joint degrees, etc. The INGENIUM alliance can also allow the creation of a network for internships or semesters of study abroad, scientific collaboration, but also to set up European projects in all the topics of interest for the partner universities.
From now on, thanks to the support of the Normandy Region, a project manager and an instructional designer are there to inform you, take charge of the administrative procedures, help and assist academic staff in the design of asynchronous courses in English.

The emerging INGENIUM Alliance of European Universities is proud to communicate that the evaluation of our project successfully met the required criteria in the Horizon Europe call “European Excellence Initiative: Capacity building to strengthen networks of higher education institutions and cooperation with surrounding ecosystems”.
The BI4E project reflects our ambition of enhancing the existing inter-university cooperation between the partner Universities, as well as with other entities (both international and local), and to strengthen the Higher Education Institutions’ (HEIs) capacity to meet the diverse challenges they face such as the twin green and digital transition, the fight against climate change, the achievement of the Agenda 2030 SDGs, all of them profound societal challenges we must be ready to address, while continuously improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
This project is particularly focusing on the research and innovation missions where BI4E activities will focus on the implementation of strategic planning adapted to our needs, institutional transformation, cooperation in terms of research, fostering entrepreneurship and the promotion of international scientific careers. The project will help to build closer cooperation links between the partners that will facilitate the exchange of information, knowledge and experience. At the end of the project the Alliance will be much more prepared to become a fully operational European University Alliance, in which cooperation in education and research will be carried out seamlessly.
